A Wounded Disciple

A contradictory feelings, ranging from liberty to shame. That’s how you’ll feel realizing that your past wounds still have its impact in your today’s actions and choices.

To begin this article....

Once, there was this man who tried to love as Christ wants us to love. He made me understand these things by heart.

Your Experience Is Not Your Identity

If you experienced attraction to this and to that, or the other thing, you did this and did that, maybe you have been abused, hurt, or ignored, or maybe committed this sin and that sin, all of that experiences that left you wounded, keep in mind, that's your experience, not your identity.

You are not the sum of your weakness, your wounds, your failures or your sins. You are the sum of the Father's love for you and your capacity to be image of Jesus Christ to the world. - Pope John Paul II.

Accept His Love

You're not accepted, you belong in the Lord already, someone who loves you, just waiting for you to accept His love.

This is ultimately the whole part of it, the main thing all of us need to do is to accept God's love as He offers it to us right now. Regardless, what are the wounds are.

Human beings cannot live without love. Because without love you remain being incomprehensible to yourself, your life remains senseless. If you does not know love, you won't receive love and make yourself a gift of love.

If you does not know love, you won't receive love and make yourself a gift of love.

What Does Jesus Wants.

Our highest calling whoever we are is to be a saint.

There were a lot of Christians who are dedicated to Jesus Christ who experience desires/attractions that are not pleasing to God if acted upon. But, they still commit their lives to live chastely, created as many great friendships as possible, diving in prayer as deeply as possible, serving and loving people as deeply as possible and incredibly living full lives and incredibly transform lives, these people, these men and women have experienced ungodly attractions/desires, they always have been, they might not know if it will ever change, it doesn't matter though, because all they know is that they were called to love, called to friendship, called to chastity, called to be a saint.

The struggle is real but one thing is more real, in repentance, we stand in the risen Christ. And the sin that we have committed (and will commit) is covered by his righteousness. But fight we must. To leave sin alone is to let sin grow.

A proper relationship with our Lord does not focus on what we do and do not do, but rather on being who He wants us to be. Healing from past wounds is a long process. Trust the process.

The goal is obedience. Becoming who God created us to be, a saint, His disciples. And as we obey, life opens up all around us, and all sorts of wonderful things become possible.
